AWS Backup quotas
The following quotas apply when working with AWS Backup. Many AWS Backup quotas are adjustable.

| Number of versions per backup plan | 2,000 | You can request an adjustment. |
| Number of resource assignments per backup plan | 100 | You cannot request an adjustment. |
| Number of active backup jobs per account | Unlimited | |
| Number of concurrent backup copies (per service) to a destination Region per account | 5 | Not adjustable by AWS Backup because this quota might depend on the source service. For example, Amazon EC2’s quota for copying Amazon Machine Image (AMIs) backup is 100 concurrent backup copies to a destination Region per account. See the end of this documentation page for source service quotas or contact the source service for guidance. |
| Number of concurrent cross-account copies that can be made of the same resource to the same destination Region | 30 | Not adjustable. |
| Number of concurrent backup jobs per resource | 1 | You cannot request an adjustment. This quota helps you maintain the performance of your workloads. |
| Number of metadata tags per backup | 50 | You cannot request an adjustment. AWS imposes this quota across all resources. See Tag naming limits and requirements in the AWS General Reference. |
| Number of hypervisors | 10 | You cannot request an adjustment. |
There are quotas on a single resource assignment in a single backup rule. You can create a backup plan with multiple backup rules.
